The Culinary Historians of San Diego present “What’s So Controversial About GMO Foods?” by Dr. John T. Lang, at 10:30am, October 19, 2019, in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library. The event is free and open to the public.​ A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.

Dr. Lang will explore the science and myth that surrounds the most bitterly contested innovation in agriculture — genetically modified food.

About John Lang
John T. Lang is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Occidental College in Los Angeles. His major interest is the sociological study of food, which serves as a lens for investigating key questions of consumption, culture and trust. He is the author of the book, What’s So Controversial about Genetically Modified Food?
